Our Story

Built by parents. Built for communities.

Because collective problems need collective solutions.

Jason Michaelides, Founder of Orbiri

Orbiri began with a simple, uncomfortable truth: families and schools are being asked to fight a digital battle that none of us chose to join. Jason learned this firsthand with his own children. The daily battles. The guilt. The noise. The realisation that no matter how hard he tried at home, the wider system was working against him.

Government policy is finally moving, but simple bans alone are not a complete solution.

When Jason saw the parents around him resigning themselves to their fate of not being able to manage it at all, he realised it was unfair and unreasonable to always expect parents to deal with the issue in isolation.

Orbiri was born out of this recognition that a collective solution was needed.

What we’re building

Orbiri helps schools and families build healthier digital habits together. Using two simple apps, Orbiri organises screen time into “Spaces”, with thoughtful, age-appropriate, shared boundaries that work beyond the school gate.

Why we’re doing this

Children deserve more than an always-on childhood. Governments are creating clearer expectations for phones in schools and stronger protections online. Orbiri helps communities take the next step: building healthier digital habits that go beyond the school gates, grow with children and last into later life. Creating less pressure on schools, less policing for parents and more room for childhood.

Our approach

We work with schools, families and children to create boundaries that work in real life. Creating technology that makes healthier, shared digital boundaries simpler to put into practice, is designed to support childhood, reduces the burden on families and schools, and makes collective action easier.
